The nights are getting shorter, and the days are getting cooler which means summer is coming to an end. Fall is the best time to repair your yard and get a head start on your lawns for next season!

Right now, your turf may be facing bald or thin patches, grubs eating at your grass, or maybe you even have holes in your yard from digging animals. Weed Man has all the answers to your lawn problems, right here!

Bald or Thinning Patches?

If your ground is hard as a rock or if you're seeing other issues in the turf such as thinning, you should aerate and overseed. Strengthen your lawn and help revive your tired summer turf! This dynamic duo is sure to bring your lawn back to life! Core aeration helps relieve soil compaction and allows essential elements to reach the grassroots, such as water, oxygen, and nutrients. Overseeding is typically followed afterward. The process of overseeding is to strengthen thin areas while filling in bare spots to make your lawn look fuller once grown. Seeding will help improve turf density and reduce the likelihood of weed outbreaks.

Once the seeds have been laid, the homeowner now must keep the lawn hydrated. This is especially important because without keeping the turf moist, there’s a chance the seeds will not germinate. It is recommended to water daily for 10-15 minutes for 3 – 5 weeks to ensure that they stay damp and have a better chance of reviving your lawn!

Grub Control Management

Have you noticed a stressed lawn with animals digging? This might be a grub control problem. Animals and birds will tend to dig holes in your yard if they sense that there are grubs nesting in it. Weed Man offers grub control management, and our preventative product is highly effective and lasts 60-75 days in the soil.

Holes in Your Yard from Digging Animals? Here are Some Helpful Tips!

·       Sprinkle cayenne pepper where the animals are digging

·       Mothballs

·       Soap flakes

·       Fox urine on fabric blowing in the wind

There could be a wide range of animals who are digging in your yard. Chipmunks, moles, raccoons, and even skunks. Unfortunately, there is no way to permanently get these pesky animals to stop. However, using one of these 3 tips can deter them from coming back. In case of rain, you will need to reapply as the smell will fade.
